Chelsea problems
16:23: Chelsea’s plight this season is down to two terrible transfer windows, reckons Ray Wilkins.
Asked why Conte hasn’t been given more control in the transfer market, Wilkins told talkSPORT: “I don’t know.
“If you’re paying a man as much as Chelsea are paying Conte, his knowledge is far superior to someone like Michael Emenalo, who they brought in to do that job.
“The manager’s knowledge is far superior. He knows the players he wants to bring in.
“The squad is weaker this season than the one that won the league last year. No Diego Costa, no Nemanja Matic - it’s been a massive blow to Conte.
“I believe it was Michael who made the changes. To actually swap Matic with Bakayoko?
“They should have brought in Morata to play alongside Costa and they should have signed Bakayoko just to play every now and again.
“He is 23 years of age and he came in from the French league, which is a bit of a doddle.”
Hazard to Real Madrid
16:10: The odds on Real Madrid signing Eden Hazard have slimmed.
Bookmakers Coral have narrowed Hazard’s price on joining Real from 5-2 to 7-4.
The change, it seems, comes as Antonio Conte’s future at Chelsea looks increasingly uncertain.
Many bookies have closed their markets on Conte leaving the club
Lineker on Barca vs Chelsea
14:30: Barcelona legend Gary Lineker thinks Chelsea duo Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante are the only players his former club should be worried about ahead of their Champions League clash later this month.
"I think Barcelona will eliminate Chelsea,” he told Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo.
“It is a difficult moment for Chelsea, with Conte dissatisfied with the signings.
“I think the tie comes at a good time for Barcelona, but still be careful: Chelsea has great players, like Hazard or Kante.”
