The registrar of the JOINT ADMISSION AND MATRICULATION BOARD, Prof Oloyede Ishaq has revealed that the board will not reschedule examination this year, according to report from news agency it was said that the registrar has disclosed this to curb the examination malpractices circumventing the system.
According to him, he said that some parent have been allegedly reported to have engaged themselves in malpractices negotiations with some CBT centre owners who assure them of success at all cost for their children. He put further that candidates who have one way or the other do not get verified through the usual biometric thumbprint upon entering their examination Hall must have been registered illegally by these CBT co-ordinator. In order to curb this issue and eradicate it completely, jamb ensure that proper diligence and machine detector is implemented through the whole time of examination for monitoring, therefore centre that engaged themselves any unspeakable or unethical examination malpractices must be penalized.
The Reistrar said, the cbt centre owner were using something called viewers and which in turn do not capture the finger of this candidates or physically, beforehand, we informed the candidates that Jamb Registration can only be done in accredited centre and not random café like before, however the board wouldn't be held responsible for any mix up with their exam date, "I allowed exam reschedule last year out of ignorance , it won't happen this year".
He described that the ongoing jamb nationwide had been described to be excellently successful , " this wouldn't have been possible if not for our improved technology, we were able to detect firsthand fraud, illegalities and examination malpractices within the system.
The registrar made the remarks at the board’s headquarters in Bwari, Abuja, when a suspected impersonator arrested by officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps was paraded for attempting to write the UTME for his brother.
According to the civil defence corps officials, the mother of the boy, who claimed to be a prophet, directed the boy to sit the examination for his brother.
The boy was arrested at the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, Air Mas Computer Centre Madalla in Niger.
Oloyede said,“ parent certainly need to completely dissociate themselves from this shameful act ", if few people decided to be gullibly unfortunate and specifically corrupt on many things, such person should at least try to limit the corruption to themselves, passing it to other generation is really a pain in the heart.
" as far as I know, it is unethical and non-parental to inculcate bad habit to children" infact it is against every type of parenting"

"Their intention are to help students by providing answers to them during their exam, unknowingly to them, we have implemented a detector that can highlight any user of a suspicious action, infact we had a student that finished his exam in 12minutes, exam of 2hours with 180questions of course" further disciplinary action shall be taken on all those found wanting in order to continue to maintain the system of transparency the board currently operates.
It is was also confirmed that the ongoing Jamb is schedule to end tomorrow 17th of March 2018
